Profile projector
Profile Projector is an optical comparator used for measuring micro parts of machines. Profile Projector is also sometimes referred as shadowgraph. This projector magnifies the profile of the specimen and displays this on a built-in projection screen to the desired levels. It is very useful to measure micro parts of machine shop or production line for quality control checks and inspections.

An edge of the specimen under observation is lined up with the grid of the Profile Projector on the screen. From there simple measurements can be taken for distances to the other points under observation. Since the profile is magnified several times errors can be reduced in measurements to a maximum extent.
